Smoky describes an impression; incense can describe a note, material or incense-like accord. A perfume may be both. These are not mutually exclusive categories with a universal floral-clarity or office winner.
If you dislike an ashy impression but enjoy resins, say that specifically. If you want a wood-fire association, investigate a named composition designed around that effect.
Two documented directions
Maison Margiela describes By the Fireplace EDT through smoky wood, roasted-chestnut imagery and vanilla, with guaiac wood, cashmeran and clove among its described materials.
Amouage’s Guidance reference lists frankincense alongside pear and hazelnut, a floral heart, and woods with vanilla. This gives a concrete example of an incense-related note in a composition containing flowers. It is not proof that incense always preserves every floral note.

Write a more specific brief

A resin list does not guarantee smoothness, and a smoky name does not guarantee harshness. Notes are descriptions rather than a complete formula or assurance that an ingredient will dominate.
Separate smell from social presence
An incense perfume may be noticeable, and a smoky fragrance (Amazon search) need not be restricted to evening wear. Assess the actual product, directed application and setting. Neither descriptor supplies a considerate scent radius or permission under fragrance-free rules.
Do not assign a clothing style to the wearer. You can enjoy a smoky or resinous composition without leather outfits, formal plans or a second daytime perfume.
Choose the actual composition
Try appropriate samples separately and assess the opening and later balance you enjoy. If the floral side matters, record which flowers or impressions you actually perceive rather than declaring that resin gives them a halo.
