For a genuinely small initial budget, Cremo Spice & Black Vanilla is the starting point in this shortlist. The designer bottles need a separate price check: a familiar name does not make Dior Sauvage, Versace Eros or Montblanc Legend a budget purchase.
This is a research-based comparison checked on 11 September 2026. We have not worn these five fragrances side by side, measured their longevity or tested their projection. The scent descriptions below identify manufacturer-described directions to sample, not guaranteed experiences on your skin.
Quick Picks
| Bottle | What the manufacturer describes | Budget decision |
|---|---|---|
| Cremo Spice & Black Vanilla Spray Cologne | A spice-and-vanilla fragrance | The US product page displayed a price under $25 at this check; verify the package size and delivered price. |
| Azzaro Chrome Eau de Toilette | Citrus, aquatic and woody direction, with white musk | Compare the exact EDT bottle and seller; no current US price was established here. |
| Montblanc Legend Eau de Toilette | Fresh fougère direction with lavender, citrus, woods and tonka | The official 100 ml bottle displayed a price in the $100 to $125 range, so it is a conditional discounted buy rather than a low-cost default. |
| Versace Eros Eau de Toilette | Mint, citrus and apple alongside woody and vanilla notes | The official 100 ml bottle displayed a price in the $125 to $150 range. Check the actual offer against your budget. |
| Dior Sauvage Eau de Toilette | Peppery bergamot and ambery woods | A premium alternative to sample if the price fits, not this list’s budget pick. |
Prices are a dated snapshot of the linked brand pages, before any shipping or tax. Bottle sizes differ and not every selected size was exposed by the pages, so this is not a price-per-millilitre ranking. Discount listings, testers, refills and travel sprays need their own comparison.
How We Picked
Five distinct products are compared here, with identities checked against current manufacturer pages. The useful distinction is between a low initial purchase price and a designer fragrance that may become affordable only in a particular size or offer.
Sauvage is not named the budget pick, because there is no comparable price basis, and the fragrances are not ranked for projection, office suitability or blind-buy risk without a documented wear comparison. A published note list cannot establish which fragrance other people will notice least or which one you will like most.
1. Cremo Spice & Black Vanilla: The Lower Entry Price
Cremo’s US product page displayed a price under $25 for its Spice & Black Vanilla spray cologne at the time of review. That makes it the clearest low-price starting point among the brand offers verified here.
Consider it if a warm spice-and-vanilla direction appeals to you. Pass if you already dislike that style; a low price does not turn an unwanted scent into good value. Check the exact bottle and regional label rather than inferring a concentration percentage from the word “cologne.”
2. Azzaro Chrome EDT: A Fresh Profile to Sample
Azzaro describes Chrome EDT as citrus, aquatic and woody, with white musk and green touches. That gives a concrete reason to sample it when seeking a fresher direction.
It does not prove that Chrome lasts fewer hours, projects less or is universally better in hot weather than the other bottles. Chrome EDT, Chrome Parfum and other Chrome versions are different products. Match the concentration before comparing a retailer’s price.
3. Montblanc Legend EDT: Check the Discount, Not Just the Reputation
The official Legend EDT 100 ml listing displayed a price in the $100 to $125 range. Montblanc describes a fresh fougère built around lavender and citrus, with woody and tonka notes.
Sample it if that profile matches your preferences, then compare the delivered price of the exact EDT size. The description does not establish that it stays close to the skin or is acceptable in every office. A fragrance-free workplace remains fragrance-free regardless of the bottle chosen.
4. Versace Eros EDT: A Conditional Designer Purchase
The Versace Eros EDT 100 ml page displayed a price in the $125 to $150 range. Its mint, citrus, apple and woody/vanilla descriptions make it worth sampling if those notes appeal to you.
At that official price it is not a low-budget recommendation. A smaller bottle or a reputable retailer’s offer may change the purchase cost, but compare the same Eros EDT rather than Eros EDP, Parfum or a different flanker. We have no controlled evidence that it projects more strongly than every other fragrance in this list.
5. Dior Sauvage EDT: A Premium Alternative
Dior’s Sauvage EDT page describes peppery bergamot and ambery woods. Sample the EDT if that direction interests you; the other Sauvage concentrations need separate assessment.
We do not rank it as the cheapest or best-value bottle. A higher purchase price can be reasonable for someone who knows they enjoy it, but that is a personal decision about use and budget, not evidence that Sauvage is the safest blind buy.
Compare the Offer You Will Actually Buy
Record the exact model, concentration, volume, seller and delivered price. Then divide the delivered price by the labelled millilitres if comparing cost per volume.
For example, $30 for 50 ml is $0.60/ml; $45 for 100 ml is $0.45/ml. These are illustrative prices, not current offers. The larger bottle has the lower unit cost but still requires $15 more upfront. Neither calculation tells you how many enjoyable wears you will get.
A refill may need a compatible bottle. A tester may have different packaging. Check return restrictions before opening a fragrance, and sample when possible instead of assuming a “fresh” note list makes an unsampled purchase low risk.
